Which materials should you declare before booking a skip?
Describe the materials at your site before choosing a 20- or 30-yard skip. Confirm the actual load; a general description of rubble does not establish that every mixed material can be collected.
Describe the actual materials
List concrete, block, tile, mortar, gypsum, timber and packaging separately when present. Send clear waste photos rather than only a picture of the container you want. This helps review the size, loading and collection terms. These examples are not an unrestricted acceptance list: confirm the materials, mix and quantity for the actual booking.
Keep uncertain materials out of the agreed load
If there are liquid containers, paint, oils, batteries or unknown materials, declare them before booking and keep them separate from building waste. A rubble skip should not be assumed suitable for every waste stream. Ask what is included and arrange excluded materials separately. Do not identify an unknown substance by opening its container or smelling it.
Report changes during the job
A job may begin with packaging and timber, then move to tile or concrete breakout. Review the load if the material changes or waste from another source is added. Empty space does not establish that heavier material can be loaded. Collection conditions and any change in service or charges should be discussed under the agreed contract, not assumed.
